Dan says he’s always impressed by how farmers on the West Coast adapt their systems to their changing climate.

“Communication is important, especially here, as we’re in a small area. It gives us all the ability to work together to put things in place that’ll improve outcomes for farmers. That leads to a more successful agricultural sector as a whole and a sustainable, profitable and enjoyable future for dairying.”

DairyNZ’s ability to link farmers to information they need is key to helping them to maintain a successful and sustainable business, adds Dan. He’s passionate about promoting the West Coast in particular, but he’s also proud of how each regional team member’s efforts can make a difference for people and the sector on multiple levels.

“Working with farmers through our regional teams supports individuals, communities and dairying nationwide. We have a real mix of skillsets within the team that benefits farmers, their systems and businesses.”
